Incidemment, j'étais je discutais d' un sujet analogue sur un forum US la semaine dernière !
A ma question " Pourquoi les habitants de Mazovie (Mazowsze) s'appellent les Mazuriens et non pas le Mazoviens (c'est le terme français), voici la réponse :

Generally, Mazury it's the name given by Prussians in the 19th century to the part of the East Prussia settled by Poles, mainly from Mazowsze (Mazovia), so they called all of them Mazurians, and the all area was called Mazury, good luck!, Powodzenia!, Tad, RootsPoland, Warsaw
